Some days ago Beryl sent me another concept art for the story, this time she sent me 3 versions of Aki. Aki is a little girl that will have a great impact on the two main characters in the story, she is very smart and would know in an instant how someone feels about things. I present one of the 3 here:

I can finally announce the artist for the illustrated series that I am the writer behind. Beryl Kwok a student at the Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) was the artist who showed me the most interesting style and was the one closest to my own visions of the characters. There were several others of the artists that showed me great skills and therefore I had some difficulties deciding on the artist in the end. The work I present here are the concept drawing of the two main characters of the story, I will tell more about the characters and a little about the story as soon as the website is up for the story.
Beryl Kwok will receive the script for the story and will work on the story from now on, we will not let the story go live before we have around 1-2 chapters ready, after that it will be a weekly updated story with 1-3 new pages each week.

I will do my selection within a few days now, I am almost certain of who I want to work with for this project and I will make my selection before I take my leave for a few days, the artist will be announced preferable before I go, but I can’t make any promises when it comes to any public announcement about that, so it could be that I won’t be able to tell anyone about who I have selected before I am back from the holyday, well it is only a few days I will go away anyway and I will use the trip for more than just pleasure.
I had a little fun with one of the pictures I use as ID on web pages and came up with the result you see above here, tried to make it simple but keep enough to be able to see that it is me.
There is only 2 weeks until I will have picked the most suited artist for the position as the illustrator for my series. Then I will go on holyday, when I get back the work with the series will start and at some point it will be released on a not yet set website.
Only 4 weeks until I will start my life as a student at Noroff in Kristiansand, looking forward to this, and looking even more forward to reaching some of my goals. The first is the illustrated series.
Today I bring this color work, this was not my plan with this, I was thinking of doing some texture and masking for this, but ended up with a color work.
I was thinking today that I would try I new approach for the summer ladies project and found the original picture for the first part of the project, I started on some masking to find the edges of the woman and my intention was to color her in a skin tone and add darker skin tones for shadows after. And finally adding outline and colors for the festival clothes for last. However I found it difficult to get the result I am looking for, so I have asked my brother to lend me his wacom to see if I can manage better with that. Anyway I didn’t get the wacom until tomorrow so today I have just made simple profile image from today’s work session. The rest of the night will be used for translating and cleaning up the script for the illustrated series, I am a little too tired to be able to do much of it, but I hope to get the first 10-15 pages scripted out.

Today I have not been working on any pictures. All my time has gone to setting up my DeviantArt profile and adding some of my works there, so if you want prints of my works you should visit my DeviantArt page. Clicky
The other thing I have done today is to promote my main project for potential artists to do the illustrations of it. My main project is a longer 3 book story that I want to be made into a graphical series, and in the future a moving picture anime or something like that :P The story is about a 21 year old boy from Norway who ends up moving to Japan to do his Education at a University there. The first part of the story (the first of the 3 books) is about his new life there, why he moved there and the people he meets there. The second part of the story is going into more adventure and action style, and the third part (book) is a future story taking place 150 years after the first two.
I will tell more about this project when there is more progress. Right now there are 4 different artists that are doing some sample works so that I can easier choose the one that suits the story best.
Ah… let me find a picture for this post, I don’t have any concept art for this project that are ready to be published I think, but will try to have something ready for the next post about this project.

My first abstract work that I actually was a little contented with. The base of the picture is a picture of a girl and a picture of a fence, by using filters in photoshop I got the cubism effect, and adding a few more elements after gave me the result. Then I found 7 different color palettes that worked fine and a last one were I found colors that not necessarily would fit together (the 3 in the second row)… I am not certain yet of how I want these to be when I fit them on a wall at some point.
Inva_zion was a project were i wanted to see what i could do using a series of pictures of poles and spires, the 4 i went with is the ones you see here and i used the head of a lightpole for the “ufo”. A fun project that at some points were really difficult to get right, the assembly and colors didnt seem to be right, but i thing the result was rather good.
This is one of the projects i hope i can take with me for a future exhibition.
This is the first adition to a 4 piece work which is influenced by and will have a feel of summer, women, beach and party.
“Summer Ladies” is not necessarily the final name of the project, just something i use when telling about the project here at the blog. The 4 pieces for this project will be 2 on black background and 2 on white, as long as i dont find that other colors will be better. This project along with 3-4 others i work on will if everything goes well, be parts of a future exhibition. But for now i will need time to work on the projects.
This is the first adition to the project “Afteryou” a series of works that are only being inspired by the two word sentence “After you”
The goal is to have a 4 piece work with 4 different results from the phrase.
