As an followup on yesterdays Grimsmyra miniatures, I found this picture taken from Baneheia overlooking Nybyen (“Newcity”?) in Kristiansand. The players are schoolmates from Noroff and one of our teachers Jørund. I did this over at least 10 times before i were anything near happy about the result, so i ended up with something that works as an “how it can look” picture to show the effect.

The Norwegian Olympic Curling Team's Pants
The Page “The Norwegian Olympic Curling Team’s Pants” has made it well at the big book of faces, passing 60 000 fans any second now.
The trousers originally made for Golfers with exquisite taste have made a great impact on the interwebz, visit the page and take a look at the many links gathered there now, or take a look at the pictures(i do hope someone will start a trend by making photoshopped pictures from the pants and pattern, maybe i will…)

Today i arranged for a photoshoot in a closed mill here in Kristiansand, invited other photographers and one of those arranged for us to get some girls to model for us, here are 3 photos from the shoot.

I will do my selection within a few days now, I am almost certain of who I want to work with for this project and I will make my selection before I take my leave for a few days, the artist will be announced preferable before I go, but I can’t make any promises when it comes to any public announcement about that, so it could be that I won’t be able to tell anyone about who I have selected before I am back from the holyday, well it is only a few days I will go away anyway and I will use the trip for more than just pleasure.
I had a little fun with one of the pictures I use as ID on web pages and came up with the result you see above here, tried to make it simple but keep enough to be able to see that it is me.
I was thinking today that I would try I new approach for the summer ladies project and found the original picture for the first part of the project, I started on some masking to find the edges of the woman and my intention was to color her in a skin tone and add darker skin tones for shadows after. And finally adding outline and colors for the festival clothes for last. However I found it difficult to get the result I am looking for, so I have asked my brother to lend me his wacom to see if I can manage better with that. Anyway I didn’t get the wacom until tomorrow so today I have just made simple profile image from today’s work session. The rest of the night will be used for translating and cleaning up the script for the illustrated series, I am a little too tired to be able to do much of it, but I hope to get the first 10-15 pages scripted out.

The Quart Festival went bankrupt in 2008, it was bought and then it was revived in 2009 by the new owners. I am the Editor and a journalist for a small cutural web-mag. so i went to the festival to take pictures and write articles. The picture i present here from the festival is probably not the best, but it is to demonstrate how close you get to the artists as an press-photographer.
Black Eyed Peas had probably one of the most spectacular shows under the festival and was also the second most visited with around 11 to 12 thousand. (Slash and friends had 18 000)
The Quart will probably have a huge minus this year but it is the new owners first year and will probably need 3-4 festivals done before they will be able to make an festival without major problems.

This is the first adition to a 4 piece work which is influenced by and will have a feel of summer, women, beach and party.
“Summer Ladies” is not necessarily the final name of the project, just something i use when telling about the project here at the blog. The 4 pieces for this project will be 2 on black background and 2 on white, as long as i dont find that other colors will be better. This project along with 3-4 others i work on will if everything goes well, be parts of a future exhibition. But for now i will need time to work on the projects.
