The Trail of Camulos

There is only 2 weeks until I will have picked the most suited artist for the position as the illustrator for my series. Then I will go on holyday, when I get back the work with the series will start and at some point it will be released on a not yet set website.

Only 4 weeks until I will start my life as a student at Noroff in Kristiansand, looking forward to this, and looking even more forward to reaching some of my goals. The first is the illustrated series.

Today I bring this color work, this was not my plan with this, I was thinking of doing some texture and masking for this, but ended up with a color work.

The time we have lost can never be regained, however we can remember that time and learn from it, so we don’t loose more time in the same manner. We should always use the time that we have in the best possible way if we shall ever be able to reach any of the goals in life.

I have not had time to write as much here as I would have liked the last days, so I will do a recap of the last days most interesting events. I have for the last days done an odd job one hour trip by car away from here at Evje. On Wednesday this week I had an expensive experience that I deserved for sure. I was kinda tired and a little hungry and wanted to get home as soon as possible, so I stepped on the speed to get home earlier, I normally don’t speed much over the speed limits. When I was 15 minutes away from home, at the end of the 70 km/h limits were the 50-60s start there was this annoying burgundy Volvo V70 driving a little too close to me, so I speeded even more to get a little gap between me and the Volvo, but it came back after a little while each time I did this. I entered the 60 limit and after the first corner in the 50s that comes right after, down the hill after Høyetun the Volvo was back again, then it came to me; “I have screwed up, haven’t I?” Right after I thought this the blue strobes went on and I had to stop. “Could I see your driver’s license please, we measured you too 88,55 km/h over 2 kilometers in the 70 limit zone.” So much for wanting to get home a little earlier, the cost came to a fine of 3600 NOK and 1 penalty point on the license (If you get 8 points over 3 years you lose the license for 6 months). My first Fine ever since I got my license 8 years ago. The thing is that I was planning on giving myself a new lens for my camera for that money, something I would need to forget.

I have on my way home the other days been looking for nice photo opportunities, and yesterday the lighting made a sight that I drive past each day look really good, it’s the ruins of a long forgotten bridge. (One two of the wooden poles still standing) I got more good pictures that day, but I will only show one of them here, the rest is possible to see at my DeviantArt site: LINK

I have also received more works from potential artists for the Illustrated story, I am looking forward to the time were the story will be realized.

I was hoping to capture that but when I had reached the car and got the camera the lighting changed. Anyway I got some good shot from the place anyway. Hope you enjoy this one :)

What would you do if you didn’t have any more goals in your life? I wouldn’t know since I have more goals than I would ever manage to reach. I want to live in another country than Norway, I want to make an animated series with the use of a story made by myself, I want to design and build “green” technology houses, I want to see all the magnificent places out there, I want to be a space tourist and I want to find people that I can live this life with.

If I ever end up with all my goals completed, I would think I have failed and set too easy goals.

Sorry, there was no post yesterday. There was this engagement party for My cousin Odd and his “now” fiancé and I ended up too drunk to be able to write anything even slightly logic here. The picture I bring with me for this post is a landscape from Bortelid, I have to admit that I have tweaked the picture a little :P

Today’s post was supposed to be about this dream I had last night, however I failed… I know that if I am to tell about a dream I need to write it down immediately after I am awake, “just 9 more minutes” was what that made me fail. My snooze is set to 9 minutes, and I used it too many times, actually I snoozed so many times the alarm stopped (snoozes only works for 1 hour) and I slept for 1 more hour – the dream forgotten. FAIL :(

There was a thunder storm raging through the area today, I was just about to turn the PC off and while it shut down I took a glance through the window, there at that same second I saw through the glass there was a lightning strike 40 meters down the road, looked like it hit the roof of a building there. Firefighters were at the spot 5 minutes later, but it seemed like no danger were found. After that I went with my cousin to some of the good view points in the city with the goal as to take some nice pictures of the clouds and skyline. The picture shown here is a cut-out of a result after using the HDR merge ability in PS, using a set of AEB pictures taken earlier when we were out.

This was something I started on yesterday and today I have worked on this and one other piece while testing out a Wacom board. It is really new for me to use such board, but I do see that some functions and tasks will go faster and more to-the-point. I was thinking today that I would try I new approach for the summer ladies project and found the original picture for the first part of the project, I started on some masking to find the edges of the woman and my intention was to color her in a skin tone and add darker skin tones for shadows after. And finally adding outline and colors for the festival clothes for last. However I found it difficult to get the result I am looking for, so I have asked my brother to lend me his wacom to see if I can manage better with that. Anyway I didn’t get the wacom until tomorrow so today I have just made simple profile image from today’s work session. The rest of the night will be used for translating and cleaning up the script for the illustrated series, I am a little too tired to be able to do much of it, but I hope to get the first 10-15 pages scripted out.
